  • Abstract
Monitoring body kinematics and analyzing posture and gesture is an area of major importance in bioengineering, ergonomic, virtual reality and rehabilitation. The authors have developed a minimally intrusive wearable system consisting of a lycra leotard onto which conductive polymer strain sensors are chemically deposited in selected areas. The sensors are capable of recording relative positions and movements of the human trunk and upper limbs by reading the mutual position of kinematically linked body segments
