Abstract :
In this paper, the analysis and design of an optimized asymmetrical half-bridge DC-DC converter (AHBC) is presented. The optimal turns ratios for the transformer are achieved for the limited duty ratio range. In order to ensure the realization of ZVS in operation, the required interlock delay time for the switches gate signals and the transformer leakage inductance are properly calculated. The design considerations are discussed, the results from simulation and experiment, which verify the analysis, are also presented. With the analysis, the actual operation of the optimized AHBC converter can be predicted in practical applications.
