Abstract :
Summary form only given. We have designed VCSEL and MESFET driver arrays which have been hybrid integrated for parallel channel optical interconnects. Initial transmission experiments are underway to characterize the use of fiber image guides for parallel optical interconnects. Continued development of such an optical system will enable a path toward massively parallel optical interconnections for future communication and computing applications
