Abstract :
In this paper, using the folding model of catastrophe theory applied to detect the transformer overheating, a new method for transformer remaining life prediction is proposed. By which the failure time of overheat transformer can be forecasted, and is verified through an actual case of transformer failure. The availability and applicability of the proposed methodology is proved.
