Abstract
Many elevators and other motor drive systems may be disconnected to the input electric power when lightning happens. During this period, the electric power is interrupted. It can cause danger and damage if the motor drive system is suddenly disconnected and loses its control ability. To solve the difficulty, a new strategy of a matrix converter-PMSM drive is proposed here. By using this proposed method, the drive system can work well after the input power is disconnected or restarted in a reasonable time interval. All the control loops, including the switching strategy, current-loop, and control law, are implemented by TMS320LF2407A digital signal processor. The hardware circuit is very simple. Several experimental results are shown to validate the theoretical analysis.
