Abstract :
The product family (PF) approach is broadly adopted for variant product developing and product family architecture (PFA) can afford as the conceptual structure and logical organization of product modeling framework. In order to give full consideration of mass customization and product lifecycle management simultaneously, this paper presents a multi-domain integrated PFA modeling approach, which is formulated in terms of modules, platform, general product structure and four domain views across the product lifecycle. Based on this PFA modeling framework, generic modes of product design and innovations are further discussed
