            Abstract : 
A compact (3.4 cc of volume) and low-cost parallel optical interconnect module, Giga-π, with a throughput of 15 Gbit/s has been developed and successfully demonstrated. We use 1.3-μm Fabry Perot laser diode arrays. We describe the features, packaging technology, and characteristics of the Giga-Π module
