Abstract :
As a low-level network with its flexibility and openness, DeviceNet is getting more and more applications in field control systems of modern industry. In this paper, a DeviceNet node interface which was designed and implemented based on HCS12D64 is introduced. The DeviceNet node interface can be used to connect and communicate a mass of field inspect or control device which has only RS-232C but no DeviceNet interface. Test in laboratory and practical application in a motor protection system shows that the characteristics of the node interface can fully meet the demand of DeviceNet specification.
