Abstract
Describes a strategy to deal with dynamic analysis of electromechanical devices energized by voltage sources. The coupling between external electric circuits, which may include power electronics, and the internal electromagnetic field involving saturation, eddy current and movement, is investigated. A combination of parabolic curve fitting technique and the secant method which has its special physical explanation here minimizes the CPU time consumed. An embryonic form of a tubular linear induction actuator (TLIA) is used as an example and its simulated results are in good agreement with experimental ones
