Abstract
The purpose of this article is to present a new operator for the detection of symmetrical objects in real-world images. The proposed operator takes into account psychological and psychophysical aspects of visual perception, which are implemented using a multiresolution and fuzzy processing of the images. The main characteristics of this new detector are its robustness and its high processing speed
