Abstract :
A family of constant-switching-frequency boost Quasi-Square-Wave Converters is obtained by adding a second switch at a different position in the variable-frequency boost Quasi-Square-Wave Converter. The new converters still maintain the zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) in the original switch while the second switch is ZVS or zero-current-switching (ZCS) depending its position. The voltage stresses for both the switches will not exceed the output voltage. Analysis of the converter is conducted with the normalized state-plane trajectory. A design example based on the analytic control characteristics curves is given. Comparison of performance characteristics among these converters are presented
