  • Abstract
    This paper presents the design of an adaptive optimal controller based on genetic algorithm (GA) for digital DC-DC converters. The proposed GA controller adopts integral time absolute error (ITAE) of the output voltage as the cost function. The algorithm is implemented in a Xilinx Virtex-4 field-programmable gate-array (FPGA). It achieves an optimal response within four generations and in a time of 200 ns.
