Abstract :
A fuzzy feedback scheduling (FFS) scheme based on output jitter for resource-constrained embedded control systems is proposed in order to reduce error caused by the uncertainty of timing parameters. Based on an in-depth analysis of the parameters related to sampling jitter and input-output jitter, the scheduling architecture is described. A simplified software-based computer numerical control (CNC) system is investigated as case study to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed FFS scheme. The scheme is independent of task execution times and is easy to implement while incurring only a small overhead.
