Abstract
The probability of bit error is investigated, taking account of propagation effects in macrocellular and microcellular networks, noise and multiple interferers. Coherent detection of BPSK, QPSK and BFSK is considered with combined log-normal shadowing and Rayleigh fading for macrocellular radio and combined log-normal shadowing and Rician fading for microcellular radio. The effect of interference with bit intervals randomly aligned with the wanted signal is studied for the case of BPSK
