Abstract
The authors describe the physical nature of impulsive noise and its simulation. The RF part and digital part of the simulator are described. Man-made impulsive noise environments were simulated and output impulsive noise was measured using noise amplitude distribution (NAD) measuring equipment. The results were in excellent agreement with measured results. The simulator was used to assess the performance of the Q-SPK T-SAT land-mobile satellite radio receiver operating in man-made noise environments
