Abstract
We experimentally demonstrate an all-optical RZ to NRZ format conversion at 1 Gbit/s using an ultrafast polarization bistable VCSEL. Our numerical simulation predicts that 40 Gbit/s signals can be converted. We also experimentally demonstrate an all-optical NRZ to RZ format conversion
