Abstract :
Summary form only given. We have demonstrated a tunable DBR laser using a dynamic holographically-written grating mirror. The external cavity laser was tuned from 1260 nm to 1285 nm and maintained a sidemode rejection ratio of greater than 40 dB across the entire range. This spectral tuning range was restricted by the geometry of a steering prism. In principle, however, this technique should allow for tuning across the entire main spectrum of the laser diode
