Abstract :
The paper is focused on analysis of harmonics component content in the switch currents of Matrix Converter and the effect of modulation method and conversion parameters such as the matrix converter output frequency and input shift phase angle on these components. There are two sources of the switch current distortion components: PWM process resulting in high-frequency components and direct energy conversion process. The direct energy conversion process is a source of occurrence of low-frequency components in switch currents. Knowledge concerning components content in individual branches of the matrix is important when analyzing asymmetry in supply and load and also in designing new topology of Matrix Converters. In the paper results of theoretical analysis and simulations are presented.
