Abstract :
The simulation of overvoltage surge protective devices operation using a numerical method, may be carried out in a reliable way only after identification of certain circuit parameters. The principal part of this circuit is the combination wave generator. Companies producing the generators do not provide the equivalent schemes, but results of measurements of generator parameters can be obtained. With these results and the application of the estimation method presented here the values of the combination wave generator scheme parameters can be obtained. The paper concerns an experimental - analytic work and consists of the actual and the method of identification of the replacing scheme parameters of the meter circuit. A full metrological and analytic estimation were achieved, showing the importance and the necessity of these procedures for a correct evaluation of the avalanche diode.
