Abstract :
This paper presents the novel design of a compact rat-race coupler that can operate at two widely separated frequency bands. This is accomplished by modifying the branch line impedance values and the insertion of two additional shunt stubs into the conventional design. The proposed circuit also features planar structure and low insertion loss. For verification, both simulated and measured performance of a microstrip rat-race coupler operating at 900/1500 MHz are shown.
