Abstract
This paper presents and validates an efficient speed control scheme based on the GPC (Generalized Predictive Control) algorithm for the indirect vector control of the induction motor. A linear simplified GPC controller is employed in the speed loop, while the current loops incorporate the SVPWM (Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation) with the PI (Proportional Integral) controllers. The presented GPC speed control scheme for induction motor provides a low computation cost respect the standard GPC algorithm, a fast response and good rejection of uncertainties and measurement noises. This speed control algorithm has been tested using various simulation and experimental tests, with and without unknown external load disturbance, taking into account the parameter uncertainties and measurement noise in the two loop signals, the rotor speed and the stator current. All proofs realized show that this robust speed GPC algorithm provides an electromagnetic torque without undesirable chattering phenomenon.
