Abstract :
We have demonstrated a 1.55 μm fiber grating laser (FGL) for single-longitudinal mode operation from a non-antireflection (AR) coated Fabry-Perot (FP) laser and a lensed fiber grating. A side-mode suppression ratio (SMSR) of up to 40 dB has been achieved. The FGL single-longitudinal mode diminishes as the angular tilt of the fiber alignment approach about 5° away from the facet normal of the FP laser
