            Abstract : 
Logistic procedure of walking beam furnace in steel production is analyzed and earliness/tardiness scheduling problem with multiple resources and identical parallel machines is modeled according to the closed relationship between furnaces and mill. A hybrid algorithm combined evolutionary computing with heuristic approach is proposed for solving this model. A simulation result with real production data shows that the hybrid algorithm is better than human-machine or heuristic approach
