Abstract :
In recent years, the polling protocol has been adopted to identify reliable resource providers and distribute sharing reputation values among peers in Peer-to-Peer overlay network. In this paper, security vulnerabilities of the polling protocols in the Gnutella-like P2P networks were analyzed, and Shamir threshold ideas were adopted to build a nearly security encryption of the reputation value. The creative features of the approach lie in the distribution of division of reputation values and selection of multi-path based on the special characteristic of reputation values as evaluation. Furthermore, we analyzed and discussed the robustness and security of our protocol, and it shows that it is resistant to several known attacks and can effectively solve the possible threat generated by the Gnutella protocol.
