Physical facility for validating material flow strategies

Describes a physical facility used to validate a methodology concerned with generating transport control data from a simulation model. Three workcentres comprising manipulation, transportation and sensing elements, make up the facility. A desk-top microcomputer, running concurrent DOS, acts as an overall workcentre supervisor and hosts a `generic transport controller´ (GTC).
