Abstract
The Apple iPhone is a powerful mobile platform. One company has introduced software that turns the iPhone into a digital signal processing toolbox for audio. However, like all real-time applications, this software suffers from several problems of reduced accuracy due to limitations of sampling and time-bandwidth product problems. We develop acoustic test data and programs to study and analyze these problems and how they affect the output of SignalScope, an applications developed by Faber Acoustical for the iPhone.
