Abstract :
The conceptual design for a heavy ion beam probe diagnostic for the TCV tokamak in Lausanne is presented. This technique will be used for electric potential measurements in the core plasma and for the determination of the magnetic potential. This combination is of crucial importance for the understanding of the physics of improved confinement in toroidal facilities
