Abstract :
This paper is concerned with application of the computer to aid the efficient layout of manufacturing facilities. It deals only with overall layout and considers departments which are functionally oriented groups, such as milling section, drilling section, turning section, bar lathes, etc. The article determines position of departments so as to minimize movement between departments
