Abstract :
A design of digital-controlled constant current source for a high-power semiconductor laser diode based on ADuC812 is described. The constant current source used a high-power MOSFET as the current control device and a Hall current sensor as the feedback device of the sample current. The over-current protection circuit and median filter arithmetic in software are designed to ensure stability and safety of laser diode operation. The practical application indicates that the constant current source is safe and reliable to the laser diode, with the linear control of the output current ranged from 0 to 50 Ampere and the 0.1- ampere precision.
