Abstract :
This paper presents a novel soft-switching full-bridge (FB) PWM DC/DC converter. With an auxiliary resonant commutating network (ARCN), not only the four main power switches but also the secondary rectifier diodes can operate under zero-voltage switching (ZVS) condition, the reverse recovery problem of the rectifier diodes is eliminated. Furthermore, ZVS is achieved in wide line and load range with no loss of effective duty cycle, the current and voltage stresses of all power devices are almost the same as the ordinary PWM full bridge converter. The two auxiliary switches in the ARCN are also zero-current-switching (ZCS). The operation principles, analysis, and experiments on 7.2 kW/240 V battery charger prototype are given in this paper
