Abstract :
AC-DC three-phase rectifiers that can operate with input power factor correction are either boost-type converters or buck-type converters that are typically implemented using six converter switches. In this paper, alternative rectifier topologies that use fewer converter switches are reviewed. The features of each topology are discussed and the topology´s advantages and disadvantages are stated. A new single-switch three-phase buck converter is presented in the paper and its feasibility is confirmed with simulated and experimental results
