Abstract
The paper describes the implementation of a colour-encoded structured light 3D digitiser to be used to measure the human face during continuous speech. The algorithms currently used to give results on static, lightly coloured objects are outlined, including a novel method of stripe identification using an extension of minimum cost-matching for strings. Visually acceptable results are shown, and ongoing work is described
