Abstract :
It is hypothesized that the impact of measurements of the properties of advanced composite materials can be substantially enhanced through the use of improved visualization techniques. Values of the elastic stiffness coefficients C11, C12, C13 , C33, and C44 were obtained from time-of-flight measurements on a set of three uniaxial graphite/epoxy samples obtained from NASA Langley Research Center. Three-dimensional representations of the phase velocity, slowness, group velocity, and the Young´s and shear moduli were derived from the measured elastic stiffness constants
