Memoriam - Edward J. Kayfes (July 15, 1933 - December 29, 1995)

Edward J. Kayfes was born July 15, 1933 in Duluth, Minnesota. He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1956 with a BS in Electrical Engineering. After graduation, he worked for the Oliver and Mining Division of US Steel in Duluth. In 1962, he started working for MandO (Minnesota and Ontario Paper which was later bought by Boise Cascadre. In 1963, he went back to work for US Steel and in 1966 was hired by Boise Cascade and relocated to Portland, OR. In 1969, he went to work for Sandwell International which was later bought out by Schuchart and Associates, which later was acquired by the Harris Group. He continued working for the Harris Group for 26 years. He had thirty-nine years of engineering contributions in the forest products, mining, food processing, mineral processing and electrical power generation industries. Ed??s background includes electrical system studies, designs and field engineering. He was responsible for all Electrical and Process coritrol design and engineering activities.
