Abstract :
In order to improve the safety level of railway track maintenance work, we encourage its systemization with a basic concept, "separation of train operation and track maintenance". It is the most difficult factor in the safety of track maintenance work that the train control center in which the dispatcher controls the train is a distance from the track maintenance area in which the track maintenance vehicles work. So, a maintenance chief calls to a dispatcher to make him set the signal at the maintenance area to a stop signal. However, if the dispatcher makes a mistake and does not set the signal to stop, a train could collide against track maintenance vehicles in the worst case. We try to avoid this case by developing a system which solves the problem by utilizing mobile communication. By this system, a maintenance chief can check stop signals in the area and control the route for track maintenance vehicles using his mobile terminal.
