Abstract
In this paper, we suggest and describe an extended CSCW architecture using Korean sign language (KSL) recognizer based on the WPS (wearable personal station for the next-generation PC). The suggested CSCW architecture that supports clear communication between the hearing-impaired and hearing person in CSCW domains is very important and essential from the viewpoints of the hearing-impaired participation in decision-making and human-computer interaction (HCI). Consequently, in this study, we put the emphasis on an implementation and performance evaluation of the embedded KSL recognizer as a component of extended CSCW architecture, and discuss on it´s the applicability and the availability in CSCW domains
