Progress on the New Zealand HVDC upgrade

The upgrading of the existing 600 MW New Zealand DC transmission link to the 1240 MW `DC Hybrid Link´ is currently one of the largest capital, infrastructure investment projects in New Zealand. The unique approach to contractual arrangements, project management and technical management of the project is outlined as these are all important areas for any organisation contemplating significant investment in technologically complex equipment.
