Abstract
In this paper, the architecture of collaborative modeling and simulation for the virtual prototyping of complex products is presented primarily. An approach of multidiscipline modeling towards HLA-based distributed collaborative design is studied. A HLA and Web services based framework and its key technologies of the distributed network environment to support multi-discipline modeling and collaborative simulation is discussed. A typical application demonstration of multidisciplinary collaboration simulation for the virtual prototyping of locomotive development is introduced
