Abstract
This paper discusses the benefits, risks and ethical issues related to nanotechnology. While it is impossible to deny the benefits of nanotechnology, it is equally essential to consider its risks. Thus, in parallel with the grants allocated to research in nanotechnology it is recommended to allocate grants for research in ethical issues in nanotechnology. Moreover, it is recommended to establish a monitoring and control body that will decide the directions of research in nanotechnology and makes sure that it is directed for solving the local problems rather than being linked with research in developing countries.
