Abstract :
A necessity to regulate the parameters of telecommunications equipment power supply and to develop appropriate national and international standards is generally recognized. Activities which telecommunications administrations and leading companies of western countries carry out in this direction is stimulated by the fact that as a result of demonopolization performed in the field of telecommunication, a situation is created where on communication sites to be designed, equipment from different manufacturers is used. This fact has not to create serious problems, related to provision of a necessary quality of the communication sites power supply irrespective of regions where they are located. Therefore it is necessary to introduce proper standards for the power supply. The authors outline the development of the new Russian standard “Electric communication equipment. Electric power quality parameters. Norms and control methods”
