Network interaction tests of the Fenno-Skan HVDC link

The network interaction tests of the Fenno-Skan HVDC link between Finland and Sweden are described. The authors deal with the objectives, execution and analysis of the tests on the Finnish side. The purpose of the tests was to verify the compatibility of the link with the AC system. Besides this, the tests gave the possibility of verifying the quality of the system modelling. The large scale network interaction tests proved to be very valuable. A lot of experimental information of AC/DC interaction was gained. The link operated in the predicted and specified way.
