Abstract :
The presence of capacitors in power systems creates resonances with system inductances that may be excited by harmonic sources on the electrical grid. Photovoltaic (PV) and wind generation facilities contain capacitors that may result in unanticipated excited resonances. This paper examines resonant characteristics of transmission-connected PV facilities and makes recommendations for minimizing the probability of excited resonances.
