Abstract :
There are two architectures by which the collaboration may be achieved: the client/server architecture and the peer-to-peer architecture. This paper presents a hybrid computer supported collaboration and visualization system that is designed and implemented using software engineering, Internet and geospatial technologies. The system uses the client/server and the peer-to-peer architectures to allow users to collaboratively disseminate, use and share imagery data and information between geographically dispersed organizations. The experimental results exhibit that users have flexibility to query, visualize, manipulate and analyze geospatial data. The results also demonstrate that multiple collaborators in geographically isolated locations can conveniently communicate, share information and synchronously view images through this system
