Abstract :
In this paper, a new method is proposed for designing of planar waveguide combining network at W-band for monopulse antenna applications. In our design a compact eight port junction acts as a four-way in-phase power divider in a transmitting mode and as a monopulse sum and difference combining hybrid in the receiving mode. The sidewall short-slot directional coupler is converted to an equivalent magic tee by adding dielectric slab-filled nonstandard waveguide phase shifter. Four such hybrids are connected appropriately using H-plane bends to form a compact two plane monopulse combining network. Simulation results with Ansoft HFSS software are presented, which verify good performance.
