Abstract :
A 8times8 steerable Butler matrix has been designed, fabricated and tested using a stripline-based multi-layer structure. The circuit is very compact and shows a 50% operation bandwidth at 2.4 GHz. The functionality of the butler matrix is enhanced by adopting the reflection-type phase shifters so that it is capable to adjust the beam direction with high angular resolution. The experimental results show a good agreement with the simulation predictions. Due to page constraints, more measurement results will be shown during the presentation of this work.
