Abstract :
The authors deal with the results of the development of a linear pulse motor-driven artificial heart with left and right blood pumps. A small size and high thrust linear actuator is required in the development of such artificial hearts. In the present paper, the authors describe the structure and characteristics of these high power linear pulse motors. The results of a mock circulatory test of an artificial heart having two blood pumps which are driven by high power linear pulse motors are also described by the authors
