Abstract :
A new multi-band antenna structure has been presented which is based on a folded dipole concept with nested arms and zig-zag shaped lines. The planar structure and line width allows to manufacture appropriate antennas not only in terms of printed structures, but also by applying quite simple metal push-bend technologies. One specific application has been shown, which is an external antenna usable for data cards supporting most of the commonly used communication frequency bands such as all 4 GSM bands, UMTS Band I (2.1 GHz) and WLAN at 2.4 GHz.
