Abstract :
The mathematical model of the brushless cascade machine supplied by impressed secondary stator current components is considered. The cascade speed range in which the primary stator is connected directly to a constant voltage, constant frequency supply and the secondary stator is supplied via a cycloconverter are shown to depend on the available cycloconverter frequency and machine torque development capability. For synchronous speed the electromagnetic torque is zero despite the presence of secondary stator current
