Abstract :
A recursive algorithm based on the least squares principle is presented, and the problem of the selection of the fitting model is discussed. The test results show that the convergency speed of the algorithm is fast and the estimating calculation is very simple. In addition, the algorithm, due to its varying data window, can be used to constitute an optimum impedance relay with adaptive speed-reach characteristic for power system protection
