Abstract :
This paper proposes a generalized dynamic model of the modular multilevel converter, which is valid for single-phase or three-phase loads and for DC or single-phase source. The proposed model is simple and easy to simulate, it gives a powerful tool to analyze the entire converter including the circulating currents and simplify the controller design. An analysis of the converter model applied to circulating currents and simulations results are presented.
